Before Surgery
  1. Two weeks before gynecomastia surgery, do not take medications containing aspirin, as aspirin reduces platelet coagulation function.
  2. Patients with hypertension or diabetes should inform the doctor truthfully during the initial consultation so that an accurate surgical plan can be developed.
  3. Before gynecomastia surgery, you must confirm that you are in good health, free from infectious diseases, other inflammatory conditions, and have no family history of breast cancer.
  4. Avoid smoking and alcohol for one week before surgery.
Before Surgery
Week 1 After Surgery
  1. You must sleep flat on your back, as this facilitates post-operative recovery.
  2. Avoid strenuous activity to prevent post-operative bleeding.
  3. Do not forcefully pull on the upper arm to avoid nerve damage.
  4. Monitor the blood circulation of the nipple and areola every 24 hours. If abnormalities are detected, contact your surgeon immediately.
  5. Pay attention to drainage tube care. If leakage or abnormalities occur, notify the doctor immediately for replacement to prevent post-operative infection.
  6. Prevent infection and consume foods or beverages rich in protein to promote faster wound healing.
Weeks 2–4 After Surgery
  1. You must wear a compression vest for at least one month to prevent swelling or fluid accumulation and to assist with post-operative shaping.
  2. Avoid showering the upper body for the first three days. Avoid heavy work or strenuous exercise for one week.
  3. There will be some bruising on the chest. Apply ice packs within the first 72 hours to reduce swelling, and after 72 hours, apply local heat to accelerate bruise dispersal.
  4. Avoid smoking and alcohol as much as possible before full recovery.
